Stanford Pandora Challenge with Common & Imagine Justice

On Thursday, April 19th about 100 Stanford students came together for a kickoff event in Partnership with Common and Imagine Justice to inspire young people to rally around the message and vision of Imagine Justice, focusing on Justice Reform, Community & Civic Engagement.

The assignment is to create, launch, market, and optimize a national playlist that drives awareness of Imagine Justice. The playlists will include voice messages that educate listeners about one of the above messages. The students have five weeks to grow their listenership and influence their audience to become activated in the conversation around Justice Reform and Community and Civic Engagement. These students will be the first to use Pandora's new mixtape platform.

Check back soon to experience the student's mixtapes and see how the challenge wraps up.

Stanford Pandora Challenge (supporting Tegan and Sara)

May 19, 2017  |  In partnership with Pandora, Warner Bros Records, and the Tegan and Sara Foundation.

In this music business and marketing workshop, Stanford students used music, data, technology, and marketing to launch an initiative to make fans safer and more comfortable at live music events for members of the LGBTQ community, concluding the event with a pitch for a national social impact marketing campaign.

We partnered with Real Industry to expose the students to the Pandora Artist Marketing Tools; educate them on how to use them to run a marketing campaign for an artist; encourage them to think creatively about how to apply them to the specific use case with the Tegan and Sara Foundation.

Stanford Design Challenge with Bose

October 23, 2016  |  In partnership with Bose.

Inspired by Bose's BOSEbuild, this one-day workshop had Stanford students design and build an interactive audio and science educational kit using headphones, earbuds, and custom software. They pitched their ideas to experienced product designers, engineers, and executives from Bose for a chance to win over $1,5000 in Bose headphones. Participants explored the science of hearing and audio technology, and created, recorded, and experienced 3D audio.

Bose has an active college intern program aimed at attracting engineering talent. Working with Real Industry allows us to show up on campus in unique and targeted ways that are more effective at finding the best students. And, most importantly, Bose is philosophically aligned with Real Industry’s goal of educating students about the challenges and opportunities of working in the audio industry.
— Neal Lackritz, Director of Technical Education, Bose
Engaging with students on campus is critical for any company wishing to enable a healthy pipeline of new talent. But to build a connection that is mutually beneficial to the students, faculty and the company is a challenge. Working with Real Industry helped give our interactions a great structure and enabled us to have a great engagement with students at Berkeley and Stanford.
